An East African Delegation, consisting Government Media Department Directors, Senior Media Heads and Senior Editors, visits Southcn.com, the premier online source of Guangdong news, yesterday(June 12).
Mr. Ouyang Nongyue, CEO of southcn.com, on behalf of Nanfang Daily Press Group and Southcn.com, briefed the guests on Southcn.com, a sample of Guangdong’s new media development, saying this 7-year-old website has now 5 million page views and 60 million hits per day and is the top choice for online news browse for the province’s high-ended netizens, such as public servants, entrepreneurs, college students and technology professionals. The websites, Ouyang added, has now four kinds of channels, including the news channels, information channels, the cities and the government departments, fully displaying the province’s latest social and economic developments. Besides, it has actively explored the e-business service, and now has an e-business platform and an e-bookstore.
The guests were interested in the website’s content management and revenue, as well as function of the website and other media in promoting a closer partnership between the East Africa and both Guangdong and China. Ouyang said, the website is dedicated to serve the interest of the province and the people and putting this social responsibility to the top priority in the management leads to the current popularity of the website. As to the enhancement of international exchange, Ouyang said if both governments agree to explore such an exchange platform, southcn.com would like to undertake the project.
The delegation, on the invitation of International Department of Central Committee of CPC, visited Beijing and Henan before they flight to Guangzhou. The delegation will stay in Guangdong till June 16, and during the five-day tour, they are going to visit schools, media, enterprises, communities and folk culture destinations in Guangzhou, Foshan and Dongguan.
