Guangzhou is to host a no-tobacco Asian Games in 2010, said Mr. Yao Rongbin, Head of the city’s Tobacco Control Committee yesterday (May 27).

According to Yao, this Saturday will be the 21st World No Tobacco Day, and on the day all shops in Guangzhou will not sell tobacco. Yao said, the city plans to issue rules on banning smoking in public places before the 2010 Asian Games.
